A major success story has been the growth of computer games development in Dundee, which can justifiably claim to be Scotland's foremost computer games location - home to a significant number of companies including Real Time Worlds and Denki.

The universities and colleges in the city contribute enormously to the depth of skills for the new media sector, with both universities producing world-class research and teaching in applied computing and software development, and interacting closely with local companies.

Tayside is home to over 352 creative industry companies involved in developing interactive digital content, with a total employment of over 2,300 people.

 

TayScreen is a joint venture between the three local authorities within Tayside - Angus, Dundee City, Perth & Kinross and Scottish Enterprise Tayside. We work closely with Angus & Dundee and Perthshire Tourist Boards and are also supported by the European Union.


The project promotes Tayside as a location for media and post production by offering a free and comprehensive location and people scouting, photography and recces.

Interactive Tayside is a public/private/academic partnership to stimulate and diversify the local digital media industry.Interactive Tayside encourages liaison between businesses, academia and support agencies, thereby creating a stimulating environment in which 'start-ups' and established companies alike can quickly translate ideas into a commercial reality.
