"I've
been to Dundee many times now but my favourite place
has to be Discovery Point. What I admire in particular
about the city is the way in which it manages to
relate the past to the present in a meaningful way
and this is something, which is highlighted very
well by the exhibitions at Discovery Point. The
city has distinguished itself by promoting a thoughtful
approach to environmental matters, encouraging commercial,
industrial and environmental issues to be considered
together and not separately."

"My favourite spot in Dundee has got to be
the Law. There's nothing better for shaking off
the cobwebs than an energetic walk up to the top.
The reward for all that hard excercise is a view,
which never diminishes in its effects, with the
two bridges spanning the Tay, reaching out to central
Scotland and beyond. The top of the Law is a great
place for getting away from the hustle and bustle,
and taking time to contemplate life and recharge
your batteries."

Chairman Kwik Fit. |

"My favourite place in Dundee is definitely Mennie's
on the Perth Road - although the accountancy lecture room
at Dundee University came a close second! I can't honestly
say I have many favourite memories of the pub though, as
I always managed to black out before the end of most evenings.
I liked it because it was the closest bar to the student's
union so I didn't have to walk far."
Fred Macaulay, University of Dundee Rector, Presenter and
Comedian. |

"There used to be a wee pub called the Tayside Bar
down near the Bus Station. I played a few gigs there with
my band, Street Level, years ago. We were a punk band
and had a bit of a cult following. I remember it because
it was a fantastic wee bar with a great atmosphere and
we always managed to get a good turnout. Great days. The
pub's gone now but I'll always have fond memories."
