Dundee boasts a considerable port, featuring berthing, cargo handling and cranage facilities. The port also features significant quayside development land available to accommodate new companise.
Dundee is one of Scotland's main port and berthing facilities. It is one of the only renewables locations in Scotland to have the benefit of being an existing, commercial port facility with cranage and cargo handling on the quayside, with prime land available for development by renbewable energy companies.

Logistics
Logistically the Port links international and coastal shipping services with land-based transport solutions. A rail freight terminal is currently being considered for the Port to link environmentally friendly sea base transport with rail freight links.
On-shore Port-based facilities include
- range of cargo handling services including specialist heavy lift
- 100,000 tonnes bulk storage capacity (ideal for biomass storage)
- extensive multi-use open storage and undercover fabrication facilities
- heavy lift cranage capability on-site
- a major industrial refinery located within the Port estate
Marine facilities include
- the ability to accommodate large ocean going vessels
- deep water access (up to 9.5m alongside quayside at LAT)
- 1800 metres of sheltered riverside berthing
- no air draft restrictions
- no locks
